There are orthotic models that are more suited to specifc conditions that you will see regularly. This is by no means absolute however we provide some options for you to consider below when treating various conditions. If in doubt we recommend a trial method whereby the patient can advise you on what orhotic they may perceive the most beneficial in terms of pain relief. Several orthoses can be trialed in the consultation with the patient standing / walking / running in these to provide input. We have often included completely different models from both ends of our range. An good example for this is a stress fracture. It may well have been caused through excessive foot pronation for which a more rigid orthotic would be thought to be best. The patient may however have the least pain in a softer orthotic. On that basis perhaps the use of a soft orthotic initially and then progressing to a firmer type once the condition has settled would work best. The following are recommendations only as models not listed may be more appropriate for a particular foot type or individual you are treating. If you would like to select your orthotic based on the activity then click on the link above.
