Warwickshire County Cricket Partnership

WCCC ENGLAND INDIA-942

We are very excited and proud to be working with Warwickshire County Cricket Club in Birmingham, England. This is an exciting partnership in which Footbionics will be the orthotic of choice for the elite club players.

The physical stresses placed upon fast bowlers are significant and well documented. Injuries to the lower limb in bowlers range from 49%-58% of all injuries sustained. The forces in the front foot of the bowler have been measured with forces up to 9.5 times body weight being transmitted. For this reason every little bit counts in terms of footwear, cushioning and biomechanical control.

Footbionics will be supplying the players with orthotics to help prevent injuries as well as assist in injury management. Interestingly our most cushioned orthotic – the Supercushion is being very well received for the high impacts during delivery. We are enjoying our partnership with the club and team physiotherapist “Gerhard Mostert”.

Formed in 1882, Warwickshire is a club with a lot of history.  Warwickshire started playing at the majestic Edgbaston ground in 1886 with the ground officially given test status in 1902. That same year at Edgbaston, England played Australia with England all-rounder Wilfred Rhodes claiming seven Aussie scalps for just 17 runs.Another man who loved Edgbaston was West Indian Brian Lara, who in Warwickshire's treble winning season of 1994 topped off an amazing few months by hitting 501 not out against Durham. New Zealander Jeetan Patel was a member of their squad and already is a Footbionics athlete, alongside England players Ian Bell and Chris Woakes. We wish Warwickshire all the best for their busy season ahead. Check out their amazing website to follow their progress www.edgbaston.com

Team physio - Gerhard Mostert has had some fantastic feedback by the players already. Given the incredibly busy cricket season played in the county competition it's important to keep everyone match fit and at the top of their game.

Chris Woakes (Warwickshire and England) "The orthotics from Footbionics are the best I have used in my career and not only give great support but also added comfort. Easy to use - I would advise their use to anybody playing cricket at any level!"
Boyd Rankin (Warwickshire and England) "The orthoses I use from Footbionics are brilliant. Having size 14 feet can make it hard to find insoles to fit my cricket shoes but these fit great. They make the long days in the field that bit more comfortable! Especially given the high impact loads of fast bowling. I have them in all my cricket and training shoes!"
Jeetan Patel (Warwickshire CCC, Wellington Firebirds, NZ) "I had previously used these orthotics when in New Zealand but it is great to know we have Footbionics in partnership with Warwickshire. They are comfy and long wearing so they don't fall apart like other brands I have used in the past! I would definitely recommend them!" Once again a great thank you for the insoles!
